RESEARCH PROJECT

Unaura is collaborating in a research project, led by the Botanical Institute of Barcelona, which aims to characterize and preserve wild populations of Cannabis. The study will consist of the following phases:

01

Studies of genetic diversity, evolution and origin

To carry out a complete genetic characterization of the genus, which will allow establishing its ancestral genotypic variability in its potential area of origin and its systematic structuring.

02

Studies of morphological diversity

To study the intraspecific, intrapopulation and intraindividual variation in plant morphology.

03

Studies of chemical diversity

To phytochemically characterize samples from different populations and establish a robust predictive model between the near infrared (NIR) spectrum and the data obtained by chromatography.

04

Preservation of genetic diversity

Preservation in the form of cuttings. Preservation in the form of pollen.
